Recording “Fallen” with K20 and Eddie Appnel

I recently had the honor of recording back-up vocals with singer/songwriter/musician Eddie Appnel, formerly of Mere Mortals, on “Fallen”, a heartfelt song written by Tony Olean, bass player/vocalist from K2O. As Tony explained it to me, “Years ago I wrote a song about my uncle and his experiences in Vietnam. It always intrigued me because he never spoke of them. We heard from a family freind who was also there and found out how much my uncle had actually been through. The day he was wounded, he was the only surviving member of his platoon. That means every friend he had, he saw die. How do you compehend that? ” Tony further told me, “I didn’t like the song I wrote, then in December 2009, Jim Kindler (guitarist/vocalist of K2O) and I were playing with a chord progression and the same feeling struck me. One Saturday afternoon I wrote the lyrics, but this time it was the overall sacrifice of all who have served. I can speak for the band when I say this is something we feel very strongly about.”

Alan Stout will be debuting the song on his radio show on 102.3 fm The Mountain on, appropriately enough, Sunday, July 4th at 8:00pm. Please tune in. K2O tells me they will also be having a CD release party sometime in the very near future, so I’ll update you as soon as I know the details!

Come out to the TEAM IMAGINATION Benefit…this great team raises funds to give children in hospital wards a day of fun and make believe and pampering for them and their families. They need to raise money for their first opportunity to make children smile at the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. What a night it will be. Tickets are only $10 and includes a free buffet courtesy of the great people at Jad’s Place, $2 Coors Light Bottles all night, Happy Hour from 10-12 with an “Imaginary Friend” drink for only $2..There will be an Ice Luge too!! OPENING FOR SAWYER BROWN AT THE WYOMING COUNTY FAIR

I’m really psyched about opening for Sawyer Brown next Sunday, September 6th! Sawyer Brown are amazing in concert and I’m thrilled to share the stage with them! I would like to thank Corey Susz, Promoter and the Kiwanis Wyoming County Fair for having me back again. This will be my 3rd time opening for a national act at the Wyoming County Fair (Jason Alden in 2006, Lorrie Morgan in 2007 and now Sawyer Brown in 2009). This year will be very special for me because I”ll be singing all the songs from my debut CD, Here I Am, which I recorded in Nashville with Lorrie Morgan’s producer, Mark Oliverius. I’m especially excited to share the song I wrote for my sister, Cathy, “8 Years of Life” with the crowd. Special thanks to my family, friends and all the fans who have and continue to support me and my music!! God Bless you all!!

Hello everyone – here’s a quick update for you! It’s been a great ride, but Jeanne will no longer be performing with Rock-N-Horse. She’s very excited to be debuting her new band at Spurs in Pittston on Saturday, June 20th AND she’ll be debuting her new band “bazaar style” at the Holy Trinity Church Festival at the Holy Child Grove in Sheatown on Friday, June 26th at 7:30pm. Jeanne’s new band comprises most of the former members of RNH but with a new guitar player/vocalist. Want to see who it is?? Come to Spurs AND Holy Trinity Church Festival for a guaranteed good time…great music, friends and fun…Country style!!

By request of Froggy 101, Jeanne will open their Up Close and Personal concert with Crystal Shawanda and Jamie O’Neal at Tink’s in Scranton. Jeanne will take the stage at 8:00pm performing 3-4 acoustic songs with some members of her band. The show is a benefit for The Women’s Resource Center of NEPA. JEANNE ZANO opening for SAWYER BROWN at the WYOMING COUNTY FAIR

Hello everyone,

I’m SO excited to report that I’ve been asked to open for SAWYER BROWN at the WYOMING COUNTY FAIR in Meshoppen, PA on Labor Day Weekend, Sunday, September 6, 2009 (also my birthday) at 7:00pm. As you may know, I won the Wyoming County Fair 2005 Vocal Talent Search and as a result opened for Jason Aldean in 2006 and Lorrie Morgan in 2007 at the Wyoming County Fair. Well, I’m so psyched to have been asked to come back and open for Sawyer Brown! They are such a cool band who have tons of hits and awards (and a brand new Christmas album out now). Their front man is such an entertainer and can’t wait to meet him. I’m not allowed to have my new band (Rock N Horse) with me due to set-up time, etc, so it will be me singing to tracks. I will definitely be singing some songs off my new CD, “Here I Am” and will also be selling it and signing autographs at the show. I’m so blessed to be given this opportunity and want to thank God, my family, friends and fans and of course Corey Susz, promoter for the Wyoming County Fair for all your continued support!
